Sony had introduced the Xperia XZ2 smartphone today, along with the Xperia XZ2 Compact, and we’re here to take a closer look at the Xperia XZ2’s spec sheet. This is the company’s new flagship smartphone, well, one of two flagship smartphones, that is. The Xperia XZ2 does come with a high-end spec sheet, and in addition to that, it’s made out of metal and glass. The phone’s corners are not as sharp as they were in the company’s previous phones, as Sony is now using a new design language called ‘Ambient Flow’, which is inspired by water, according to the company. A rear-facing fingerprint scanner is included on this phone, and those of you who live in the US will be able to use it. The Sony Xperia XZ2 features a 5.7-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display with HDR support. This is the company’s first smartphone to sport an 18:9 display aspect ratio, in case you didn’t know that. The device may sport a 5.7-inch display, but despite that, the device is not that big or wide, thanks to its taller display aspect ratio, the device measures 153 x 72 x 11.1mm, while it weighs 198 grams. The Xperia XZ2 is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, which is the company’s all-new flagship processor. In addition to the Snapdragon 845, Sony also included 4GB of RAM inside the Xperia XZ2, and 64GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card). The Xperia XZ2 comes with a hybrid dual SIM setup, which means that you can either include two nano SIM card slots here, or one SIM card slot and a microSD card slot (at the same time). A 3,180mAh non-removable battery is also included in this package, and so is fast wireless charging (Qi standard). IP65/IP68 certification for water and dust resistance is also a part of this package, in case you were wondering.
A 19-megapixel Motion Eye snapper (f/2.0 aperture, 25mm lens, Exmor RS sensor) is placed on the back of the Xperia XZ2, which can get up to 12800 ISO as far as photos are concerned, and 4000 ISO when it comes to video. 4K HDR video recording is also enabled here, and the device can shoot super slow motion video at 960 FPS. A 5-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, display flash, 23mm wide-angle lens) is placed on the front side of the Xperia XZ2, while a 3D Creator is enabled on both the device’s front-facing and rear-facing cameras. The Xperia XZ2 comes with 5CA LTE (Cat. 18), while the phone also includes NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C 3.1 (a separate 3.5mm headphone jack is not available). Stereo recording is enabled on the device, and the phone comes with front-facing stereo speakers (Dynamic Vibration System, DSEE HX, LDAC, S-Force. This handset will launch in four color variants, Liquid Black, Liquid Silver, Deep Green and Ash Pink.
