Samsung has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy Note 8 in India. This update had started rolling out in France quite recently, and Indian users can now update their Galaxy Note 8 units as well, or will be soon, as this is a staged rollout, so keep in mind that an update is not available to everyone this very moment. That being said, along with Android 8.0 Oreo, Galaxy Note 8 users will also get a new version of Samsung’s Android skin, Samsung Experience 9.0, which will replace Samsung Experience 8.5 version on your Galaxy Note 8 handset.

Having said that, Samsung Experience 9.0 will bring a new, customizable keyboard, to your handset, while in addition to that, Samsung also included new emoji and stickers. Bixby briefing feature is also a part of the new update, and the same can be said for an enhanced DeX support, and a number of other changes. Now, in addition to those features which are included in Samsung’s newest skin, the Galaxy Note 8 will also get a number of Android 8.0 Oreo-specific features, such as new animations when pulling down the notification shade, a Picture-in-Picture mode, some battery tweaks, new options in settings, and so on. Samsung has adopted all the major features of Android 8.0 Oreo, which is something its users will quite probably appreciate. Samsung had launched the Galaxy Note 8 in India last year, and the device has been available in the country for months now. The Galaxy Note 8 originally launched with Android Nougat, so this is the very first major update for the device.

The Galaxy Note 8 was the company’s flagship smartphone until the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus arrived. The Galaxy Note 8 is still quite powerful, though, the phone is fueled by the Exynos 8895 64-bit octa-core SoC in India, and it comes with 6GB of RAM. The device is available in several storage variants, while it sports a dual 12-megapixel camera setup on the back. The Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Super AMOLED display, and a 3,300mAh non-removable battery. Bluetooth 5.0 is a part of the package here, while the phone comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
