Google Assistant now lets you order Dunkin’ Donuts on the go through the Dunkin’ mobile app. Whether you’re a long-time Dunkin’ customer or a newcomer to the establishment, mobile ordering your favorite donuts and cup of coffee has now been made easier than ever thanks to the new integration. Though you’ll need the Dunkin’ mobile app for this to work, if you’re at home and you also have a Google Home speaker you should be able to speak to Google and have the speaker understand your command, however the interaction will likely carry back over to the phone since the app is installed there. This also works on iOS devices in addition to Android devices.
Users will need to ask Google to talk to Dunkin’ Donuts to get things going and from there Assistant will greet you and tell you your balance within the Dunkin’ mobile app, then finish off by asking if you’d like to re-order your past orders. If you say yes, you’ll be asked which location you’d like to order from, which requires your location, and then you can proceed with ordering your items. The process is rather simple and goes fairly quick if you know exactly what you’d like, and just like with the Starbucks mobile app and mobile ordering the idea here is to get consumers to place their orders online through the app and in advance so they can speed past the line of people already in the store looking to order on-site.
You’ll also need to be a DD Perks member so you’ll have to set that up and then link it to Google Assistant before you can actually place any orders, but that shouldn’t take too long to complete and being a rewards member is free and you can complete things right from the Dunkin’ app. Though this is for mobile ordering, it’s worth reiterating that you will still need to go into the store to physically pick up your order as this isn’t a delivery service.
