Huawei’s upcoming P20 Lite has paid a visit to China’s telecom regulator TENAA, confirming its design and spec sheet. Chinese smartphone brand Huawei has made no secret of its plans to unveil the P20 lineup in Paris on March 27 but hasn’t officially detailed any of its upcoming smartphones, save for hinting they’ll all place a large focus on AI and mobile photography.

Starting off with the design, the front panel of the newly certified P20 Lite is largely dominated by a 5.84-inch display which sports a 2280 × 1080p resolution and an iPhone X-like notch. Huawei’s branding sits on the bottom bezel, while the display notch accommodates a 24-megapixel camera, in-ear speaker, and a variety of other sensors. Moving on to the rear, the glass panel of the phone sports a vertical dual-camera setup in its top left corner that is present alongside what appears to be a single LED flash. The camera setup itself will feature Leica’s branding and be comprised of a main 16-megapixel camera and a secondary 2-megapixel sensor that should help with background blurring. Also featured on the back are a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and vertically placed Huawei branding in the bottom left corner. In terms of internals, Huawei’s upcoming mid-range smartphone will be powered by the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 that will be coupled with 4GB of RAM. Furthermore, the Chinese brand has equipped the P20 Lite with 64GB of internal storage, although this is further expandable via a microSD card by up to 256GB. The Huawei P20 Lite will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo and the company’s custom EMUI 8.0 overlay. Lastly, the device is expected to ship in Blue, Black, Pink, and Gold, while keeping the lights on will be a 2900mAh battery, as suggested by the same source.

The device’s TENAA visit comes shortly after Vodafone UK confirmed Huawei will be launching the smartphone alongside the P20 and P20 Pro at the end of the month, and that it plans to offer the smartphone to customers shortly after launch. In terms of pricing in the UK or US, Huawei has yet to confirm anything officially, but a recent Vodafone Spain catalog priced the smartphone at €369, or the equivalent of £330 and $458, meaning pricing should be similar to the company’s current Huawei Mate 10 Lite.
