Microsoft Sells Galaxy S9 (Plus) With Free Wireless Charger

Just as it did last year, Microsoft is directly selling unlocked models of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus from its own official stores, and from now until March 31st, customers who purchase either variant can get a Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Stand free at no extra cost. Simply place the desired Galaxy S9 variant to the Microsoft Store shopping cart and then select the charger and the discount will instantly appear: the $59.99 accessory will be listed as $0.00. Customers can also opt to purchase the pair at a physical retail store as well. It should be pointed out that this is not the brand new 2018-model unit, but rather the 2017 model that launched with the Galaxy S8 last year. The Galaxy S9 is being sold for $719.99 and the Galaxy S9 Plus is being sold for $839.99. Please be aware that sales tax, when applicable, will be added to the price.

Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone has hit stores in recent weeks and this is just one of many possible deals and offers that can be had by intrepid shoppers around the United States. As for why one might opt to purchase with Microsoft, there are no unique or key exclusive features to speak of. Unlike in prior years where devices sold this way had pre-installed apps, Microsoft is offering an “untouched” variant of the unlocked Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. As a potential perk, however, purchasing the product from a non-carrier source means that it will be rid of the obscene amount of bloatware that is so notoriously found on all telecom-variant models. This translates to more available storage, no need to manually uninstall or disable unwanted apps, no constant needing to update carrier-specific content, etc. Note that users may be required to manually enter APN settings to connect to the internet should the phone not automatically configure itself with SIM card insertion.

For those who have decided to buy a Galaxy S9, the real question is timing: While deals like the free charger seen in this post are no doubt appealing, BOGO offers are arguably much more so, as are price cuts. While Samsung is allegedly aiming to sell even more units this year than it set S8 sales targets at last year, only time will tell how successful the product ultimately becomes.
