A new set of concept images envision what LG’s upcoming G7 Neo could look like. In recent times LG has confirmed a change to its mobile strategy, whereabouts it will no longer focus on releasing devices every twelve months. Instead, the South Korean company will bring new smartphones to the market when it deems them necessary, while also producing different variations of the same device over time in the hope of maximizing return. Nonetheless, LG has confirmed that its next flagship is on the way, and a new set of concept renders give a glimpse at what could be expected.

Looking at the images, the device shown clearly takes some inspiration from last year’s LG V30, although a number of changes have been made, especially up front. Starting with this, the device envisioned sports a pretty small bottom bezel, while up top, the bezel has been removed altogether in favor of a small display notch that is home to a front-facing camera and an in-ear speaker. Additionally, the side bezels of the display are also reduced to a minimum. In terms of the rear, a very similar glass panel to the one featured on the LG V30 is present. This features LG’s logo towards the bottom, and the circular power button towards the top – this also doubles as a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, the concept device switches out LG’s usual horizontal camera setup for a Samsung-like vertical one, albeit a much more rounded alternative. Also, a dual-tone LED flash is present alongside the company’s typical laser autofocus sensors. As with LG’s previous flagship devices, the concept envisions a device that continues to sport a 3.5mm headphone jack on top. Now, it’s worth noting that these concept images are based on a recent video that came directly from MWC 2018, which claimed to show off the company’s upcoming flagship. Because of this, there is no guarantee that LG’s eventual G7 Neo will look anything like the device represented in the renders.

Nonetheless, in terms of specs, the South Korean company’s upcoming device is expected to boast a large 6-inch display with a 3120×1440p resolution. Powering it is set to be Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor, the Snapdragon 845, which is rumored to be coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards also likely. In terms of a release date, nothing has been confirmed by LG as of yet, although the latest rumors point towards an announcement sometime in the Spring, meaning it could be as late as June.
