The Vivo V9 Youth had surfaced online quite recently, and the company has just announced that phone in India. The Vivo V9 Youth is basically a cheaper variant of the Vivo V9 which was announced last month, and the information regarding its arrival was shared by Mahesh Telecom, an Indian carrier which shared the phone’s retail box and its specs sheet on its official Twitter page. In addition to that, the source also said that the phone is now in stock, and that it can be purchased for Rs. 18,990 ($288).

Having said that, the Vivo V9 Youth sports the very same design as the Vivo V9, which means it is made out of metal and glass, and it sports a vertically-aligned dual camera setup, and a display notch. The phone features Vivo’s branding on the back, while all of its physical keys sit on the right-hand side of the phone. The Vivo V9 Youth has a really thin chin below the display, and even though the phone looks completely identical to the Vivo V9 in terms of the design, its specs are somewhat different. The Vivo V9 Youth is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core SoC, instead of the Snapdragon 626, which is a chip inferior to the Snapdragon 626, of course. The phone also comes with 32GB of storage, compared to 64GB on the Vivo V9. The Vivo V9 Youth features a 16-megapixel camera on its front, while its more expensive sibling comes with a more capable 24-megapixel camera. There are also some differences on the back as well, as the Vivo V9 Youth features 16 and 2-megapixel shooters on its back, while the Vivo V9 comes with 16 and 5-megapixel cameras. Those are all the differences between the two phones, by the way.

The Vivo V9 Youth sports a 3,260mAh battery, and it comes with Bluetooth 4.2. Android 8.1 Oreo is pre-installed on the device, with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4.0. There are two SIM card slots included in this phone (2x nano SIM), while you can expand the device’s storage using a separate microSD card slot. The phone features a 6.3-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) display, and it comes in Pearl Black and Champagne Gold color variants. The phone is available from Mahesh Telecom, but it’s also available from a number of other offline retailers across the country. Having said that, we’ve already reviewed the Vivo V9, if you need a point of reference.
