Honor has announced that the Honor 7C will be launching in India on May 22. This handset was originally announced in China back in March, and chances are we will get that very same smartphone for the Indian smartphone market on May 22. This smartphone will follow the Honor 10’s launch in India, which is scheduled for May 16, as the device will be announced globally on May 15. It is worth saying that the Honor 10 will be the company’s new flagship, and that it originally launched in China last month.

Now, the Honor 7C is a much more affordable Honor-branded handset, compared to the Honor 10, and it is aimed at a completely different profile of consumers. The Honor 7C will likely be a direct competitor to the Redmi 5 in India, and the device is made out of metal. The Honor 7C comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while the company’s branding is present both on its front and back sides. The Honor 7C’s bezels are not too thick, but they’re not exactly too thin either, as this is just a budget smartphone. All the physical keys are located on the right-hand side of the Honor 7C, while the phone features two cameras on its back. The Honor 7C features a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display with a 2.5D curved glass on it. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core SoC in China, so chances are that the same chip will be included in the Indian variant as well.

The Honor 7C launched in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants in China, with 32GB and 64GB of storage, and we’re still unsure whether both variants will be available in China, but chances are they will. A 3,000mAh battery is also included in the Honor 7C package, while 13 and 2-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the phone. A single 8-megapixel camera is included on the front side of the device, while you will find two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM) on the inside of the Honor 7C. It is also worth saying that the phone offers expandable storage, as you can use the second SIM card slot in order to expand its storage. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included here as well, while the phone comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.0 skin. The phone was introduced in Black, Blue, Gold, and Red color variants in China, and it remains to be seen if all color options will be available in India. The phone is priced at 899 Yuan ($142) in its homeland, so you can expect a similar price point in India, the device will cost around $150.
