OPPO is set to announce the first Android smartphone under its online-exclusive sub-brand Realme in India, and a day before its scheduled launch, a new leak has surfaced to reveal the specifications that the handset is expected to feature. Its official listing on Amazon.in has already confirmed a glass back with a Diamond Black finish, along with some AI-based additions. The budget smartphone is expected to come without a fingerprint scanner, though facial unlock option may be included. A MediaTek MT6771 processor, better known as Helio P60, is suggested to power the phone, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of on-board flash memory. Another leak from last week also mentioned the same processor and RAM combination for the first Realme smartphone.

Over at the front, a 6-inch display will cover most of the available estate, given its 18:9 aspect ratio and thinner bezels, as seen in a previous leak. The Chinese company reportedly didn’t go for a notched display for this model and included an FHD+ IPS LCD panel with significantly reduced bezels on both its top and bottom. The dual-SIM phone will have hybrid card slots and come with Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.0. A 3,410mAh-capacity battery will be part of the package, together with a micro-USB port for charging and data transfers. The handset will include two cameras, one each on its front and back, with an 8-megapixel and a 13-megapixel imaging sensor, respectively. This detail has also been confirmed by the official listing of the device.

At tomorrow’s launch, OPPO will officially confirm the phone’s features and specifications, along with its pricing for the Indian market. As previously mentioned, Realme will be an online-only brand targeting the younger consumer base of the South Asian country to drive more sales for the company through its eCommerce channels. OPPO has partnered with Amazon India to retail all Realme-branded Android smartphones going forward. The Realme 1 was initially considered to be a rebranded OPPO A3, taking into account how similar their backplates look, but if the new leaks are anything to go by, the Chinese company has designed the phone by picking up elements from many of its existing Android offerings.
