Honor has just announced a new budget smartphone, the Honor 7S. This smartphone has been announced in Pakistan (and also listed on the company’s global website), but it is expected to arrive in a number of Asian and European markets in the near future. The Honor 7S is made out of metal, it sports a single camera on the back, while all of its physical keys are included on the right. The company’s logo sits below the display of the Honor 7S, while the phone’s bezels are not that thick, especially for a phone that is as affordable as the Honor 7S is.
Now, in terms of specs, the Honor 7S sports a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The device is fueled by the MediaTek MT6739 64-bit quad-core processor, which comes with the PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU for graphics processing. The device comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, while Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone with Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.1 skin included on top of it. A 3,020mAh battery is included in this package as well, and the same can be said for a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an FM Radio chip. A 13-megapixel camera is included on the back of the phone, while a 5-megapixel camera sits on the phone’s front side. Bluetooth 4.2 is included as well, and the same goes for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
The Honor 7S has been announced in Black, Blue, and Gold color variants in Pakistan, and it is priced at PKR 14,499 ($125), which makes it one of the most affordable Honor-branded smartphones out there. The device will probably carry a similar price tag outside of Pakistan as well, though it remains to be seen in which markets exactly will it be announced. Honor had recently introduced its new flagships, the Honor 10, and that handset is actually quite affordable in Europe, its pricing starts at €399, so it’s not exactly surprising that Honor decided to release such an affordable phone as the Honor 7S in order to cater to the entry-level market.
