Consumers in Canada may purchase the OnePlus 6 from the OnePlus website starting May 22. Three hardware variants of the handset, which differ primarily in terms of RAM size and internal storage capacity, will be sold in the North American country. The cheapest variant of the device, which contains 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage, will ship with a price tag of $699, and this model will only be available in Mirror Black. Meanwhile, the model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal flash storage will cost the user $769. This variant of the OnePlus 6 will be available in Mirror Black and Midnight Black starting on May 22, while the Silk White color option will be available starting on June 5. The most expensive model of the OnePlus 6 contains 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage, and it is priced at $839. Users only have one color option for this variant, which is Midnight Black.
The OnePlus 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is comprised of an octa-core Kryo 385 CPU and the Adreno 630 GPU. The handset sports a 6.28-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2280 by 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The device has a dual rear camera setup, which is equipped with a 16-megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens. The front-facing selfie shooter, on the other hand, sports a 16-megapixel sensor with an aperture size of f/2.0. To keep its lights on, the OnePlus 6 includes a 3,300mAh capacity battery and the device supports a proprietary fast charging technology, dubbed Dash Charge.
The OnePlus 6 ships with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed, although the device maker’s proprietary skin, OxygenOS 5.1, runs on top of Google’s operating system. The software skin adds a number of useful features including the Face Unlock functionality, which is capable of recognizing the user’s face and unlocking the device in 0.4 seconds. However, users have the option to unlock the smartphone using the fingerprint scanner located on the rear panel of the handset. The OnePlus 6 also supports connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and the handset can accept two SIM cards at the same time.
