OPPO Find X Is Not Coming To The US After All

Since OPPO announced the Find X smartphone last week in Paris, it’s been a pretty popular subject, for obvious reasons. But now it looks like it won’t be coming to the US. This comes after The Verge had mentioned it would be coming to the US in its coverage of the device. Though, no other site mentioned it, and neither did OPPO in its actual presentation at the launch event. Which made things look questionable as to whether it would actually come to the US. Now according to PC Mag’s Sascha Segan, OPPO has told him that the Find X is not going to come to the US after all, but it is coming to Europe.

This continues on with what OPPO told AndroidHeadlines just a few months ago, when they launched the R15 and R15 Pro smartphones in Shenzhen. The fact that OPPO is looking to get back into Europe and likely would do so this year, but it won’t be heading to the US anytime soon. OPPO had cited that President Trump was a big deterrent keeping them out of the US. Of course, OPPO isn’t the only Chinese manufacturer saying that either, and given the trade war that President Trump has been waging with China in recent months, that isn’t a surprise. OPPO had been in Europe before, but ultimately pulled out and focused more on its homeland of China and a few other Asian countries, and quickly became one of the biggest smartphone makers out there. Now it is re-entering Europe and has a better game plan this time around.

The OPPO Find X is a pretty interesting smartphone from OPPO, and it has garnered a lot of attention. That is because the entire top of the phone slides up for the front and rear facing cameras. It basically took what its sister-company, Vivo did with a few phones, and improved on it. The OPPO Find X has almost no bezels, but there’s also no notch. So you’re looking at around 93% screen-to-body ratio here, which is impressive, and something that most companies haven’t been able to do (most haven’t even cracked the 90% level).
