The OPPO Find X will feature a 93.8-percent screen-to-body ratio, according to a new teaser shared by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer earlier this week. The size of bezels surrounding its display panel should hence be even smaller than what the unconventional Vivo NEX ended up offering earlier this month as “only” 91.24% of its front surface amounts to its screen. The industry record set by OPPO may not be beaten in a while, with handset makers presently being limited by the manner in which Super AMOLED panels can connect to a motherboard; doing so requires delivering a device with a chin, with only Apple managing to circumvent that limitation by curving the screen of the iPhone X inwards, though the latest iOS flagship’s screen-to-body ratio still isn’t anywhere close to that of the Find X as it amounts to only 82-percent.

OPPO‘s upcoming Android cellphone is expected to be equipped with a notch and may attempt to innovate in that aspect, with one of the company’s previous teasers pointing to a screen cutout that’s much more aggressively curved than what other contemporary smartphones offered so far. The end result of that approach should be a free-flowing, unique aesthetic that’s less asymmetrical than what most notch-equipped handsets deliver. The OPPO Find X is rumored to feature a 6.4-inch display with an FHD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio, up to 8GB of RAM, and a maximum of 128GB of flash memory expandable via a microSD card slot by 400GB or possibly more.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 may also be part of the package, together with a 16-megapixel dual-camera setup and a 25-megapixel front module. The Chinese tech giant already confirmed its next high-end offering will be announced at a dedicated event in Paris on Tuesday, June 19. The handset is hence likely to become available for purchase by early next month and should target select European and Asian markets.
