Technology startup Magic Leap is almost ready to finally share some concrete technical specifications of its mysterious mixed reality headset, as well as demo it in action. The Plantation, Florida-based company unveiled the Magic Leap One: Creator Edition late last year, debuting it in the form of an early version of futuristic goggles made for third-party developers interested in supporting the upcoming MR ecosystem with content. No firm release dates have yet been provided, with Magic Leap only stating the headset called Lightwear and its accompanying hardware are meant to be released at some point this year.

In the meantime, the company will share some actual details about the product on Wednesday, July 11, as part of a new episode of Magic Leap Live, its YouTube webcast centered on what’s described as a revolutionary product that could forever change the entertainment industry and benefit a wide variety of other segments. Two episodes of Magic Leap Live have been recorded so far, with the startup seemingly aimed at publishing one per month. The existing episodes can be viewed below.

Magic Leap already struck some key content partnerships with various players from the entertainment industry and the world of sports, having even earned a glowing endorsement from NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The company didn’t share many details about its upcoming webcast, having only said that the aforementioned demo will show one “upcoming developer sample.” A number of outside studios already got their hands on Magic Leap One kits earlier this year but not before signing extremely strict non-disclosure agreements and contractually obligating themselves to keep their units locked in a safe whenever they aren’t being used, industry sources claimed several months back. Unlike more conventional AR solutions, Magic Leap’s technology is said to be capable of overlaying real-world objects with virtual textures in a seamless manner and allow for more intuitive interactions with such digital elements.
