A recent teaser suggested that the Nokia X5 will be announced on July 11, and some seemingly official press images of the device surfaced online as well. These images appeared in China, and they’re actually giving us a really good look at the device. If these images are accurate, the Nokia X5 will ship with a display notch, while its display will sport rounded corners. Nokia’s logo will be included both below the display, and on the back of the phone, while all the physical keys will sit on the right-hand side of the device.
On the back of the phone, in addition to Nokia’s branding, you’ll also notice a dual camera setup, an LED flash, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. A 3.5mm headphone jack will also be a part of the package, it seems, and it will be located at the very top of the phone. The Nokia X5 (aka Nokia 5.1 Plus) will be announced in China initially, but the device is expected to reach a number of other markets around the world soon after its launch in China. It seems like the Nokia X5 will be made out of metal and glass, while this will be another mid-range smartphone from the company, as HMD Global had released quite a few Nokia-branded mid-rangers in the last year or so.
Now, as far as specs are concerned, the Nokia X5 did surface on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and that listing not only shared initial Nokia X5 images, but it also shared some specs that the device will sport. The Nokia X5 will feature a 5.9-inch HD+ display, 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM, and 32GB / 64GB of storage. The device will include a 3,000mAh battery, while it will sport 13 and 5-megapixel cameras on the back. MediaTek’s 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel the Nokia X5, though we still do not what chip exactly. The Nokia X5 is expected to be priced below $200, though it remains to be seen how much exactly will the device cost.
