The Motorola One and One Power have been leaking for a long time now, and the company has finally decided to make them official. We have actually shared several exclusive images and some exclusive info when it comes to both of these smartphones a while back, and now all the info is available. Motorola has announced both devices via its official blog, and as most of you probably already know, both the Motorola One and One Power are Android One devices, as rumors / leaks suggested. Having said that, these two phones are mid-range offerings by the company, and we’ll talk more about both of them down below, starting with their specifications.

The Motorola One Power, on the other hand, sports a 6.2-inch fullHD+ (2246 x 1080) LCD ‘Max Vision’ display, and it also comes with a display notch. This phone comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which can also be expanded with a microSD card (256GB max). A 5,000mAh battery lies on the inside of this phone, and it supports Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging as well. 16 and 5-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the Motorola One power, while a single 12-megapixel camera can be found on the device’s front side. Android Oreo comes pre-installed on this handset, while this phone also comes with a 3,5mm headphone jack, Type-C USB port, and Bluetooth 5.0. The Motorola One Power measures 155.8 x 75.9 x 9.98mm, while it weighs 170 grams.

Motorola One & One Power Design

As far as the design is concerned, these two phones look almost the same (slightly different look of rear-facing cameras), in comparison, though the One Power is larger of the two. Both devices are made out of metal and glass, and both of them ship with a vertically-aligned camera on the back, in-between which you’ll notice an LED flash. A fingerprint scanner is located on the back of both devices as well, and Motorola’s logo is imprinted on it. Android One branding is present on the back of these two phones as well, while Motorola’s branding lies on the phone’s ‘chin’ below the display. A display notch sits at the top of the display on both of the devices, while the display on both phones sports rounded corners. A 3.5mm headphone jack can be found on the top of both devices, while a Type-C USB port sits on the bottom, along with a loudspeaker. Dual cameras protrude on the back of both devices, in case you were wondering. The Motorola One will be available in Black and White color variants, while the Motorola One Power will ship in Black, White, and Gold colors.

Motorola One & One Power Cameras

Motorola did not really share all that much info regarding the One and One Power’s camera setups. We do know that 13-megapixel (1.12um pixel size) and 2-megapixel (1.75um pixel size) cameras lie on the back of the Motorola One, and those two cameras have f/2.0 and f/2.4 aperture lenses, respectively, while a single 8-megapixel (f/2.2 aperture, 1.12um pixel size) camera can be found on the front side of the Motorola One. As far as the Motorola One Power is concerned, you will find 16 and 5-megapixel cameras on its back, though we do not know what sensors are those exactly. The same 8-megapixel camera that is located on the Motorola One can be found on the front side of the Motorola One Power as well.

Motorola One & One Power Battery Life

The Motorola One and One Power come with different battery packs, which is not surprising at all considering that those two phones are quite different in size. The Motorola comes with a 3,000mAh battery pack, while the Motorola One Power has a considerably larger, 5,000mAh battery on the inside. Both devices support Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging, which can get you up to 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes, says the company. This fast charging requires a special TurboPower charger, which will come included with both the Motorola One and One Power, so no worries. The company did not release any additional projections when it comes to the Motorola One or One Power’s battery life.

Motorola One & One Power Software

The Motorola One and One Power come with the exact same software, basically. Both devices ship with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, and we’re looking at stock Android here, as both phones are a part of Google’s Android One project. Android 9 Pie is expected to land on both devices in the near future, but for now, you’re getting Android 8.1 Oreo with all of its features, including Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, and so on. Motorola says that monthly security patches will be rolled out to both devices, and both phones are guaranteed to receive them for the next three years.

Motorola One & One Power Security

As far as security is concerned, the Motorola One and One Power are each offering a fingerprint scanner, which is located on the back of each of these phones. That is a regular, capacitive fingerprint scanner, which will unlock the device as soon as you put your finger on it, no need to click on it or anything of the sort. It doesn’t seem like either of these two phones ship with facial scanning, though that part was not clarified by the company. In addition to the fingerprint scanner, Android regular, software security methods are included, including PIN and pattern protection, should you choose to use them.

Motorola One & One Power Variants

Both the Motorola One and One Power ship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage, though it seems like an additional model of the One Power will be available in some markets, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Other than that, there are no additional variants with different setups, or anything of the sort. It is worth noting that support for 4G LTE connectivity may vary from market to market (band support), but all variants of the Motorola One and One Power do support 4G LTE connectivity. The Motorola One comes in Black and White color variants, while the Motorola One Power will be available in Black, White, and Gold colors.

Motorola One & One Power Availability

The Motorola One is priced at €299, while the device will become available in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific starting from September. Some UK-related info was also released, the company said that the Motorola One will be available in the UK for £269 at John Lewis, Amazon, and Argos. The Motorola One Power, on the other hand, will make its way to India in October, though its price tag was not revealed. That is pretty much all the availability info that Motorola released thus far.
