Samsung has been rumored to announce a new mid-range series under its Galaxy line of smartphones with a number of reports surfacing lately indicating its possible launch in the coming weeks. The Galaxy P series was previously expected to go official with a pair of smartphones – the Galaxy P30 and the Galaxy P30 Plus. While a series of reports have suggested some of their vital details, a new report claims that the alleged Galaxy P series doesn’t exist at all and all the its details that have leaked so far are mere speculations. This piece of information was shared by a known industry insider who goes by the name Ice Universe on Twitter. However, it is believed that the previously leaked information isn’t entirely untrue as the two aforementioned smartphones may possibly end up launching under an existing Galaxy series.

In response to Ice Universe’s tweet, a Twitter user mentioned that the rumored Galaxy P-series smartphones will be a part of Samsung’s Galaxy A series at launch that caters to the upper mid-range segment of the market. The South Korean company has recently been quite aggressive with its mid-range series by launching a record number of Galaxy A-branded smartphones this year, with the latest one being the Galaxy A7 (2018) that features a triple-camera setup. Given this change in Samsung’s marketing strategy, the possibility of the Galaxy P-series handsets launching under the existing lineup cannot be ruled out. Having said that, this could again prove to be a baseless speculation as the information hasn’t been shared by a credible source, nor has Samsung intervened to clarify the situation as of now.

Based on the particulars leaked during the past few weeks, the Samsung Galaxy P30 and the Galaxy P30 Plus will sport IPS LCD panels, which is a step down from the AMOLED displays found on most high-end smartphones from the brand. An in-display fingerprint scanning system was also suggested for the two devices, although, an industry insider recently claimed otherwise. In addition to these, both the phones will ship with either 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage along with 6GB of RAM. They are expected to debut in China in the coming weeks and will later roll out to other international markets where low and mid-range segments witness maximum traction.
