Samsung is reportedly gearing up to add a handful of smartphones to its flagship Galaxy S series that will directly succeed the Galaxy S9 series launched earlier this year. In line with such leaks, a new report has surfaced claiming that the upcoming Galaxy S10 lineup will allegedly have a total of three models with varying display properties and sizes. According to a known industry-insider who goes by the name Ice Universe on Twitter, the three Samsung Galaxy S10 variants will carry model numbers SM-G970, SM-G973, and SM-G975. A 5.8-inch flat display has been suggested in the tweet for the first variant, while the last two models will feature a curved display measuring 5.8 inches and 6.44 inches respectively.

The last Samsung flagship to sport a flat display was the Galaxy S7 that was introduced in 2016 alongside the Galaxy S7 Edge. The company has since switched entirely to curved display panels for its flagship smartphones while doing away with the ‘Edge’ branding. If this leak is anything to go by, Samsung will reintroduce flat displays with the Galaxy S10 series and it should be positioned below the other two models to act as a new entry point to the high-end lineup. It is worth noting that the aforementioned model numbers also appeared in another report earlier today where a firmware being tested for the Galaxy S10 revealed the said model details. Earlier this week, four codenames for the unannounced flagship Android series had leaked with one of them reportedly being a 5G-ready variant.

Samsung officials have already stated that a design overhaul can be expected from the Galaxy S10 series. Recent leaks have suggested that the lineup will include display panels in 19:9 aspect ratio and will come equipped with the newest chipsets from Qualcomm and Exynos depending on the region. The inclusion of a rear-placed triple-camera setup has also been tipped for the flagship series. Samsung is expected to make its offerings official at some point in Q1 2019 but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. 2019 is also the year when the South Korean company is said to unveil its first foldable smartphone which will likely be followed by a new Galaxy Note device later that year.
