Sony’s newest mid-range smartphones are now available to purchase, after being up for pre-order for two weeks. That’s the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus. These are priced at $349 and $429 respectively.

The Xperia 10 is the smaller of the two, as you might have guessed from the name. It sports a 6-inch 21:9 aspect ratio display with a full HD+ resolution. It also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage built-in. There is still a micro SD card slot available for adding more storage should you need it. Sony has also equipped the Xperia 10 with a dual-camera setup. There’s a 13-megapixel main sensor, along with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Finally, this is all powered by a 2870mAh capacity battery.

Meanwhile the Xperia 10 Plus also has a lot of the same characteristics. It has a 21:9 aspect ratio, but at 6.5-inches. It has a slightly more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset inside, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, as well as micro SD Card slot. Sony has changed up the cameras on the Xperia 10 Plus too, giving it a 12-megapixel main sensor and a 8-megapixel secondary sensor. All of this is powered by a 3000mAh capacity battery.

These two smartphones from Sony are pretty good options, especially at their price points, though the 21:9 aspect ratio is going to take some getting used to, for sure. Sony says that these are both GSM unlocked. That means that these will both work on AT&T and T-Mobile. On top of that, they are certified to work on Verizon. Allowing you to use these on any carrier, except for Sprint.

With the 21:9 aspect ratio display, users are going to be able to multi-task like never before. One of the examples Sony likes to showcase is the fact that you can have a video playing at the top, and still have a regular 16:9 aspect ratio display for going through things like Twitter or Gmail. Allowing you to watch a video while also Tweeting. Which may seem like a niche thing, but it’s a pretty nice feature to have available on these smartphones.

Surprisingly, both of these smartphones also have a headphone jack. So you can plug in a pair of headphones into your phone and listen to your favorite music. This is something that a lot of other high-end smartphones, that cost hundreds more, are getting rid of. That includes Sony, with the Xperia 1. Sony says that the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus both support HiRes audio, through the headphone jack and via Bluetooth, so if you are an audiophile, then both of these are going to be some really great smartphones to pick up.

In the US, the Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus are available in both black and gray colors. The other colors – including pink and blue – won’t be available in the US, or at least not yet.
