HONOR has reached out to confirm that its flagship HONOR 20 series of smartphones will be announced on May 21 in London, and that this time around the company’s flagship will not be announced in China beforehand. Based on the rumors that we’ve seen thus far, HONOR will introduce at least two flagship smartphones as part of the HONOR 20 series, the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro.

Not much info surfaced when it comes to these two phones, but this is the first time that the company is expecting to announce more than one HONOR flagship at the same time. As a reminder the HONOR View20 was announced at the beginning of this year (it was supposed to arrive at the end of last year) as the company’s flagship, but that phone is a part of the “View” series of devices, the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro are the company’s main yearly flagships which usually launch mid-year.

HONOR is obviously teasing the HONOR 20’s cameras in this launch event invite, as it uses the “CaptureWonder” hashtag / tagline, and it shows what seems to be London’s Tower Bridge in both sunset and nighttime here. HONOR does not that these photos are for illustration purposes only, which means they were not taken with the HONOR 20’s camera(s).

Chances are that the HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro will be quite similar to one another, both in terms of the design and specifications. The two phones will probably resemble the HONOR View20 to a degree as well, or at least that’s expected to happen. It is still unclear if the two phones will include a display camera hole(s), like the View20, or a tiny display notch, like the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro.

The HONOR 20 and 20 Pro will be made out of metal and glass, though, almost certainly. The two phones will include several cameras on the back, and an in-display fingerprint scanner is also expected to be included in the mix, in both phones. Both devices will include extremely thin bezels, and Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on both of them, along with HONOR’s Magic UI Android overlay which shipped on the View20.

The HONOR 20 Pro is expected to include Sony’s IMX600 sensor on the back, as its main camera sensor, which essentially means that it may include the same camera sensor as the Huawei P30 Pro. The phone is expected to feature a 6.1-inch fullHD+ OLED display, and both the HONOR 20 and 20 Pro will be fueled by the same processor, the Kirin 980. The Kirin 980 is Huawei’s most powerful offering at the moment, and that chip fuels both the company’s Mate 20 and P30 flagships, not to mention that it is included in the HONOR View20 as well.

The HONOR 20 Pro is said to ship in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, while it will be available in 128GB and 256GB storage flavors. 20 and 8-megapixel cameras are expected to be included on the back as the phone’s second and third rear-facing cameras, while a 3,650mAh battery is expected to be included in the package as well. The device will allegedly support 22.5W fast charging, while three variants of the device are rumored to cost 2,999 Yuan ($446), 3,399 Yuan ($506), and 3,799 Yuan ($565). Just to be clear, the first model is said to sport 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the other two will both offer 8GB of RAM, on top of 128GB and 256GB of storage, respectively. European variants will be a bit more expensive, probably.
