The Google Pixel 3a series has been the subject of many leaks during the past few weeks and months and so there is very little left to really know about the two phones.
Now, adding to the wealth of leaked information, what is said to be the spec sheet for the Pixel 3a has surfaced online, as well as some fresh images of the “Just Black” model, all courtesy of Roland Quandt.
Based on the new information, the standard Pixel 3a will feature a 5.6-inch OLED FHD+ (2220 x 1080) display, along with an 18:9 aspect ratio and always-on functionality.
Inside, the Pixel 3a will come loaded with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC along with a 3,000 mAh capacity battery.
What is probably most notable is the inclusion of a single 12.2-megapixel, double pixel rear camera. This seems to largely confirm the previous speculation that the camera experience on offer with the Pixel 3a series will be identical to what’s offered with the more premium standard Pixel 3 line.
An 8-megapixel front-facing camera will also be included. As will Active Edge, Pixel Imprint, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port.
It is worth noting that earlier today reports emerged suggesting earphones won’t be included in the box (the Pixel 3a comes with a headphone jack unlike the Pixel 3 line), but the spec sheet here seems to indicate earphones will be included in the box.
The Pixel 3a XL specs were not included in this latest leak although all current indications seem to point to the two phones being identical, besides in obvious areas such as the display size and the battery capacity.
Along with the spec sheet and images, Quandt also shared a ‘promo’ sheet which looks to confirm Google will market the Pixel 3a series in almost the exact same way the company does with the Pixel 3 phones.
This includes an emphasis on camera abilities (including Night Mode), unlimited Google Photos online storage, battery life and charging speeds (seven hours following a 15-minute charge), three years’ worth of OS and security updates, and more.
None of the information released today provided any additional details on the likely pricing of the two phones and this is one of the aspects that has remained the most elusive during the current leak cycle.
It is expected the Pixel phones will be priced somewhere in between $400 and $500 in the U.S., although those details are loosely based at the moment. Unlike previous Pixel launches, however, it is expected the Pixel 3a series will be more varied in carrier availability this time around.
The new Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL smartphones are expected to be officially announced within hours. Google kicks off its developer-focused I/O event tomorrow with the traditional keynote presentation and all indication point to the new Pixel phones being announced then.
While these phone will likely steal a good degree of the limelight, the event looks to be one rich in Android announcements, including the latest information on, and release of the next beta version of Android Q.
