In addition to announcing the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, the company has also announced the Redmi TV. This launch event took place in China, and the event itself was announced a while back.

Redmi teased some aspects of the Redmi TV, and now it revealed all the details. We knew that it will feature a 70-inch display, while a part of its design was also revealed beforehand. Not much else surfaced, though. Well, if you’re interested, read on.

Thin bezels & HDR10

As you can see in the provided image, the Redmi TV features really thin bezels. This TV comes with legs on both left and right sides, while the company’ branding is visible on the bottom.

This is the company’s very first TV. As a reminder, Redmi is Xiaomi’s spin-off company, essentially. The company separated itself at the beginning of this year, and is releasing products without Xiaomi’s branding. Xiaomi is still its owner, though.

This TV features a 70-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) display with 178-degree viewing angle. Redmi’s very first TV also comes with HDR10 certification, so you can watch boosted HDR10 content.

Redmi’s TV is powered by the Amologic 64-bit quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. This processor comes with the Mali-450 MP3 GPU which is clocked at 750MHz.

The Redmi TV includes 2GB of RAM on the inside, along with 16GB of internal storage. PatchWall AI is also a part of the package, while the TV supports H.264, Real, MPEG1/2/4, and so on.

Dolby Atmos & DTS Audio are included

This Redmi TV comes with a separate cavity speaker, Dolby Atmos, and lets you can content to the phone just by scanning the QR code on the TV.

DTS audio is also a part of the package, while the TV comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz). Bluetooth 4.2 is included in the package as well, and the TV has plenty of ports.

You will find three HDMI ports on the Redmi TV’s body, in addition to two USB ports. An S/PDIF port is also included, by the way.

This TV ships with a remote controller, which comes with a built-in microphone. You can control the TV by using that microphone, as that remote controller comes with Bluetooth connectivity.

The Redmi TV is priced at 3,799 Yuan ($531) in China. It will become available for purchase on September 10. We still do not know when or if this TV will make its way to other markets. It will probably launch in India, but we’re not sure about Europe.
