Just when you thought you had seen it all, in regards to the Pixel 4, Netflix jumps in with a few more details on the unannounced devices.

Netflix has added the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL to its list of HDR10-compatible devices. Basically confirming what we already figured – seeing as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were also HDR10-compatible for Netflix.

Though, you still don’t often see unreleased or unannounced smartphones on this list. In fact, it is usually a few months after release before Netflix adds them to the list.

Netflix wanted to join in on the Pixel 4 leak party

It definitely looks like Netflix wanted in on the fun with leaking the Pixel 4. As mentioned already, Netflix doesn’t usually add new devices to this list until a few months after the device has been announced and available for sale.

Which makes this unprecedented. Not to mention the Pixel 4 is not even announced yet – and won’t be for about another month.

While Netflix did not give us a ton of details on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL – it really only told us that both will support HDR10 on Netflix – it does give us some more information on the devices.

The Pixel 4 has been leaking left, right and center as of late. And that’s how we can tell that we are close to the Pixel 4 being announced. It’s rumored to be happening on October 15, but Google has yet to confirm that.

This leaking isn’t new for Pixel

Pixel, and even going back to the Nexus days, have always had trouble keeping leaks under control. Now there are some leaks out there that will be planted by Google, to help drum up some hype around the device before it is announced.

But when it comes to Pixel, it’s a bit much. Last year, we had many, full reviews of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, months before the two were announced. Now this was not really in Google’s control, as a shipment of them from Foxconn got stolen in the Ukraine.

However, this year, we’re seeing about the same amount of leaks. We’ve already seen videos of it being compared in real life to other flagship smartphones. We’ve also seen reviews of the devices.

At this point, all that’s left is for Google to announce the pricing and availability for the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.

Google should just take the stage at its hardware event and say that all the leaks were true and here’s when you can get the Pixel 4. That’s really all we need to know now.
