Despite having said that it would keep selling the OnePlus 7 Pro alongside the new OnePlus 7T, T-Mobile has decided that it will change course. And instead, it is starting to phase the OnePlus 7 Pro out of its retail channels, in favor of selling the OnePlus 7T pretty soon.
The OnePlus 7T will be on sale starting October 18, so T-Mobile still has a few weeks to finish selling the units that it still has.
No longer available online, only in some stores
The OnePlus 7 Pro is available in some stores right now, and it is no longer available online.
Essentially, it has a very small inventory, so it is looking to sell off the rest of that inventory before October 18 when it starts selling the OnePlus 7T. Which is going to come in at about $100 cheaper than the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Remember that T-Mobile was selling the middle model of the OnePlus 7 Pro that costs $699, and not the entry-level model that was $669. So it is actually $100 more expensive than the OnePlus 7T.
This is different from what OnePlus and T-Mobile told everyone when the OnePlus 7T was announced last week. Both companies stated that the OnePlus 7 Pro would remain on sale at T-Mobile for the foreseeable future.
And it made sense, that would give OnePlus a smartphone at $500, $600 and $700 on T-Mobile, hitting just about every price point in between the super cheap smartphones and the uber expensive ones.
Somehow the OnePlus 6T is still on sale, though
T-Mobile is still selling the older OnePlus 6T though, which is $500. That puts the OnePlus 7T firmly in between the OnePlus 6T and the OnePlus 7 Pro, as far as pricing goes.
The OnePlus 6T may be getting a price drop soon though, as it is going to be replaced by the OnePlus 7T (but not entirely). And it would make for a great option for T-Mobile customers that want a new phone, but don’t want to spend a grand on a new phone. Since it is just $500.
Basically, if you still want a OnePlus 7 Pro, you’ll probably need to head over to OnePlus’ website. That’s going to be the better bet actually, seeing as T-Mobile does limit their OnePlus smartphones a bit.
For instance, T-Mobile removes the dual SIM capability and only includes a single SIM. It also removes the pre-installed screen protector. Which isn’t a huge deal since that screen protector is pretty terrible, but some people do like having it. And it also holds up updates for their testing. Luckily that last bit is an easy one to fix, by flashing the international software onto the device.
Either way, it looks like the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 7T will be the only T-Mobile OnePlus devices for now.
