The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will become official on February 11, and the very first hands-on video of the device just surfaced. This video has been shared by Ben Geskin, on Twitter.

The video itself is really short, it has a duration of 15 seconds, but it gives you a really good look at the phone. This video shows the purple variant of the device.

The Galaxy Z Flip hands-on video shows us the device in both folded & unfolded state

You can see the Galaxy Z Flip in both folded and unfolded state in this hands-on video. Its secondary display on the outside, the so-called ‘Focus Display’ is shown here as well. As you can see, it shows the time, date, and battery percentage. We’re not sure if you’ll be able to edit that info.

There are also seems to be an orange dot next to the time. That could indicate new notifications that you may have, as that dot is similar to what Samsung’s Tizen smartwatches offer. Such a dot appears on the home screen of a Tizen watch when you have unread notifications.

It seems like that display on the outside will not be constantly on. At the beginning of the video, it is off, until the phone gets closed from an unfolded state. It is possible that you’ll be able to tap it, or something, in order to activate it.

When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Flip is quite large. It seems to be extremely tall, which is not surprising having its 22:9 aspect ratio in mind. The display camera hole is also visible here.

This smartphone has been leaking for quite some time now, and this video gives us the best look at the device yet, pretty much. We’ve seen some images of the device, but nothing beats a real-life video.

The device will become available on February 14, at least in the US

The phone will launch alongside the Galaxy S20, and is rumored to become available only three days later, on February 14. That goes for the US, at the very least.

The phone will cost around $1,500 in the US, while it will probably be a bit more expensive in Europe. The device itself will not include a flagship SoC, it will ship with the Snapdragon 855+, which is Qualcomm’s flagship processor for last year.

The device will include two cameras on the back, and those cameras will be horizontally aligned. Two 12-megapixel cameras will be included, if leaks are to be believed.

The Galaxy Z Flip will include a 6.7-inch fullHD+ display, while that secondary panel will measure 1.05 inches. Android 10 will come pre-installed, along with Samsung’s custom UI.

The phone will sport 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Samsung will utilize UFS 3.0 flash storage here, by the way.
