The OPPO Find X2 is shaping up to be quite an interesting flagship, it will feature a QHD+ 120Hz display with 240Hz sampling. This is just one piece of information that the company’s exec revealed via Twitter.
Brian Shen, OPPO’s Vice President and President of Global Marketing, tweeted out “This is my kind of ‘Flagship’”, and then basically released some display specifications. This is clearly an indication of what we can expect out of the OPPO Find X2.
The OPPO Find X2 will include a beastly QHD display with 120Hz refresh rate
Based on this information, the OPPO Find X2 will, in addition to the aforementioned resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz sampling, also support HDR content. You can also expect this display to be quite bright, up to 1,200nits of brightness.
100-percent DCI-P3 support has also been announced, and the same goes for SDR to HDR conversion. If all of this sounds familiar, well, there’s a good reason for it.
It seems like the Find X2 will include the very same panel as the OnePlus 8 Pro, which was to be expected. OPPO and OnePlus are sister companies, and tend to share some tech amongst themselves.
OnePlus announced its QHD+ 120Hz display with 240Hz sampling quite recently, and it fits this description perfectly. That could also mean that the Find X2 will include a display camera hole, as the OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to. It doesn’t have to be the case, though.
The ‘Pro’ variant of this phone surfaced on Geekbench
Now, to make things even more interesting, the OPPO Find X2 Pro appeared on Geekbench. This is not the first time we’re hearing about the ‘Pro’ variant, but chances are it will be extremely similar to the regular model.
This listing does not necessarily mentions the ‘Pro’ moniker, but based on the CPH2025 model number, we’ll guess that’s what this is, as the regular Find X2 has a different model number.
Both the regular and Pro Find X2 handsets will likely include the same display, the one that Brian Shen mentioned. It is also worth noting that the regular Find X2 already surfaced on Geekbench, at an earlier date.
This listing confirms that Android 10 will come pre-installed on the phone. On top of it you’ll get OPPO’s Color OS, which is not mentioned here.
This listing also confirms that the device will include 12GB of RAM. It also suggests it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 64-bit octa-core processor. The phone managed to score 913 points in the single-core, and 3,308 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Those scores are way too low, so don’t even bother to pay attention to them. This is just a test model.
The OPPO Find X2 series is expected to become official on February 23. Xiaomi did postpone its event earlier today, though. So, it remains to be seen if OPPO will do the same, due to the fact that MWC got canceled.
