It’s not exactly a secret that Samsung announced its Galaxy S20 series smartphones today. Well, in addition to announcing the three Galaxy S20 handsets, Samsung also announced a special edition of the Galaxy S20+ 5G, one made for Olympic athletes.

The official name of this smartphone is the Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Athlete Edition. It’s basically the Galaxy S20+ 5G with the Olympic logo on the back, and some added content on the phone.

The Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Athlete Edition comes with a ‘Mirror Gold’ finish

The color of the phone is also different. This is a ‘Mirror Gold’ color variant. The back side is in this ‘Mirror Gold’ color, as Samsung calls it, while the front is black.

This is not the first time Samsung is announcing a special edition smartphone for the Olympic games. The company did the same with the Galaxy Note 8 for the winter Olympic games in South Korea.

That variant was available only to athletes, and the same will be the same with this model as well. In case it’s not clear by now, only the Galaxy S20+ got the Olympic treatment from Samsung.

The three Galaxy S20 phones that the company announced today are the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. All those devices support 5G in the US, and their pricing starts at $999.

All three phones are fueled by the Snapdragon 865, and comes with at least 12GB of RAM. That is the only RAM variant of the S20 and S20+, while the S20 Ultra comes in a 16GB RAM option as well.

Do note that this varies from one market to the other, though. The Galaxy S20 and S20+ are available in an 8GB RAM option with Exynos 990 in Europe, for example.

The ‘Ultra’ model is the most impressive one in the series

The Galaxy S20 Ultra has some advantages over the Galaxy S20 and S20+, but the three phones are fairly similar. The Galaxy S20 and S20+ are considerably smaller than the S20 Ultra, but have slightly less impressive camera setups. If you’d like to know more about the Galaxy S20 series, click here.

In addition to the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Flip today. This is the company’s second foldable smartphone, and a phone that has been leaking like crazy for weeks now.

The device includes the very first foldable display made out of glass, and it has fairly thin bezels. The device folds vertically, right down the middle, and includes two cameras on the back.

There are two displays on the device, the secondary one is really small, and it’s placed on the outside. The Galaxy Z Flip is fueled by a less impressive Snapdragon 855+ SoC, but it’s still a very powerful processor. Click here if you’d like to know more about the Z Flip.
