In addition to announcing the Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 5.3, HMD Global has announced a new Android Go handset during its press conference, the Nokia 1.3.

This is a budget smartphone, as expected. The Nokia 1.3 is made out of plastic, and it includes a single camera on the back. Below that camera, you’ll notice an LED flash. That camera module is flush with the phone’s back.

Nokia’s logo is visible on the back of this device, and there is also a loudspeaker located there. The power / lock, volume up, and volume down buttons are placed on the right. The Google Assistant button can be found on the left.

The Nokia 1.3 includes a dewdrop display notch

This handset includes a dewdrop display notch, and it has thicker bezels than its siblings. Its bezels are not thick for this price range, though. You’ll also notice that Nokia’s branding sits on the phone’s ‘chin’, below the display.

This handset features a 5.7-inch HD+ (1520 x 720) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 215 quad-core SoC fuels this phone, that is Qualcomm’s entry-level chip.

The Nokia 1.3 packs in 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card). Android 10 comes pre-installed on the phone, but it’s an Android Go version of Google’s OS.

An 8-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this phone, while a 5-megapixel one can be found on the front. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included here, while the phone has an FM radio transmitter as well.

A 3,000mAh battery is included, and it is removable

A 3,000mAh battery is included, and it is removable, by the way. This phone supports 5W charging, so it’s not particularly fast, but you can’t expect more at this price range.

The phone will be available in both single and dual SIM card slot variants, it seems. The Nokia 1.3 supports 4G LTE with VoLTE connectivity, and Bluetooth 4.2 as well.

You will be recharging this phone via a micro USB port that is located on the bottom of the phone. The phone measures 147.3 x 71.2 x 9.35mm, and weighs 155 grams.

The Nokia 1.3 comes in Cyan, Charcoal, and Sand color variants. The Sand model is particularly interesting due to that finish on the back, it makes the device look different than anything we’ve seen… even though it’s just a different color.

The Nokia 1.3 is priced at €95, though it’s not yet available. The phone will go on sale starting in early April, at least in Europe.
