OPPO had introduced its Find X2 and Find X2 Pro flagship smartphones today. That is not the only announcement the company made during its press conference. The OPPO Watch also got announced, OPPO’s very first smartwatch.

OPPO’s first smartwatch is heavily inspired by the Apple Watch

OPPO’s very first smartwatch may seem like it offers a familiar design, that’s because OPPO is clearly inspired by Apple here. The OPPO Watch definitely resembles the Apple Watch, though it doesn’t have a crown on the side.

The OPPO Watch includes OPPO’s own Dual-Chip Endurance System and Watch VOOC Flash Charging technology. It also comes with built-in cellular connectivity, and a suite of health and fitness features.

This watch is made out of metal, and there are two buttons on its right side. On top of the watch, you will notice a curved display. This is the industry’s first smartwatch with a 3D Flexible Hyperboloid Screen, claims OPPO.

The watch comes in two sizes. You can choose between 41mm and 42mm versions of this smartwatch. The smaller variant includes a 1.6-inch display, while the larger one comes with a 1.9-inch panel.

Displays on both of those watches are of an AMOLED variety, and it covers 100-percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. A heart rate sensor is included on the bottom of the watch, while it also offers electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality.

The watch is fueled by the Snapdragon Wear 2500, and it includes 5ATM rating

To make it even more appealing, OPPO made sure that it is 5ATM rated for water resistance. The OPPO Watch is fueled by the Snapdragon Wear 2500 processor, and alongside it, you’ll be getting the Apollo 3 co-processor.

If you’re wondering about software, it’s not Wear OS. This runs OPPO’s custom software, which is based on Android, but it’s OPPO’s very own iteration of Android for wearables.

As mentioned earlier, this watch does support cellular connectivity, but you won’t be able to insert a SIM card inside it. It comes with an eSIM, so you can take advantage of that if your carrier supports it.

The VOOC Flash Charging can charge this watch up from 0 to 46-percent in only 15 minutes. A full charge will take you about 75 minutes. OPPO also claims that the watch is quite gentle with battery consumption.

The company claims that you can get 40 hours of (normal) use on a single charge. The battery saving option can extend its battery life up to 21 days.

The watch comes with 5 exercise sensors, and can monitor “a range of exercise scenarios”. This watch will go on sale in China on March 24, while OPPO said it will “be available globally” as well. We just don’t know when exactly. Its pricing in China starts at CNY1,499 ($215)
