The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 has reportedly entered the mass production stage, and is coming in August. This information comes from a Korean news site ‘Hankooki’.
The fact that the Galaxy Fold 2 entered mass production points to an August launch
The source reports that the Galaxy Fold 2 has entered mass production, though they’re not sure about the August release date. Still, considering the timing of this, August is still the most likely option.
This information only reaffirms previous reports, reports that the Galaxy Fold 2 will launch alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series. Samsung is rumored to host an online-only event.
The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to bring many improvements compared to its predecessor. It’s expected to utilize Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), like the Galaxy Z Flip. It will probably be the same glass, by Schott and Dowoo Insys.
The device is also expected to cost less than the Galaxy Fold. It will include 120Hz and 60Hz displays, its inner and outer panels. The main panel is expected to offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and measure 7.59 inches.
The inner panel will be a 60Hz display. The Galaxy Fold 2 is also expected to include the S Pen stylus, much like the Galaxy Note series. That probably means it will offer the same S Pen features as well.
An in-display fingerprint scanner will probably be included as well, unless Samsung opts to move it to the side. The outer display will be larger than on the Galaxy Fold, as it will include much less bezel.

That huge display notch on the inner display will no longer be a part of the package. Samsung will probably include a display camera hole on the inside instated. That camera hole is expected to be included on the outer display as well.
The device will still be made out of metal and glass, quite probably. It will offer thinner bezels in general, and quite probably a camera setup from the Galaxy S20+. Don’t expect a periscope camera to be included.
Samsung is planning to ship considerably more Galaxy Fold 2 units than that was the case with the first-gen product. It is planning to sell around 2.5-3 million units.
The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, almost certainly. It will also include plenty of RAM and storage, and an OLED display both on the inside, and the outside.
Android 10 will come pre-installed on the device, along with Samsung’s custom UI. A large battery is also expected, and the same goes for fast charging.
