It seems like the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will have larger ultrasonic fingerprint scanners from Qualcomm. This information comes from Ross Young, a well-known analyst who has been shared quite a few information about these two phones lately.

This information has been shared during an interview with Ross Young on YouTube. This interview has been conducted by the GregglesTV YouTube channel. The whole video has been embedded below the article.

Fingerprint scanners on the Galaxy Note 20 will be considerably larger

Now, regarding the fingerprint scanners. Ross Young claims that the Galaxy Note 20 phones may be the first phones to utilize Qualcomm’s new 3D Sonic Max fingerprint reading tech.

If that ends up being the case, you’ll get a sensing area that is 17x larger than before. It will cover 20mm x 30mm of the screen, while the regular fingerprint scanner covers 4mm x 9mm.

This fingerprint scanner can even scan two fingerprints at the same time. This will make your phone even more secure, basically, double secure, if you will. A regular fingerprint scanner is extremely secure, but this is a whole new level.

Unlocking your phone with two fingerprint scanners is not really practical, though. So we don’t know how many people will utilize this feature, if the Galaxy Note 20 end up offering it. It can be useful for adding an extra layer of security on some specific files or apps, though.

That’s not all the information that Ross Young shared, though. He also said that he believes Samsung will keep that display camera hole in the middle. He also talked about the LTPO display tech that he mentioned several times thus far.

LTPO tech will give an edge to Samsung as it can save 5-15-percent of power. It does require an extra transistor for each pixel, which makes it tricky to create high DPI displays. Such panels were mostly used on smartwatches.

The Galaxy Note 20 phones may ship with 16GB of RAM, standard

The analyst also says that the Galaxy Note 20 will ship with 16GB of RAM, as a standard, up from 12GB of RAM on the Galaxy Note 10. Battery capacity will be between 4,000 and 5,000mAh.

Mr. Young previously said that the Galaxy Note 20 will include a 60Hz LTPS display. Only the Galaxy Note 20 Plus will sport a 120Hz LTPO display, which would be an interesting move by Samsung.

Both of these Galaxy Note 20 smartphones are expected to arrive in August. The company is expected to announce them alongside the Galaxy Fold 2.

The Galaxy Fold Special Edition / Galaxy Fold Lite is also rumored to arrive in the near future, though. We’ll see what will happen, but it seems like the Galaxy Note 20 devices will include larger ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, which is the most interesting piece of info gathered from this interview.
