HONOR is planning to launch a new smartphone on May 20, the HONOR X10. The company confirmed as much via Weibo, while also confirming that the device will support 5G. This handset will become official in China.

That is pretty much everything that HONOR revealed at the time, though we do have some more information about this device. The HONOR X10 did get certified by TENAA recently, so we pretty much know what to expect at launch.

The HONOR X10 will launch later this month, and we already have some info

Based on what TENAA reported, the HONOR X10 will be a mid-range smartphone. The device will be made out of metal and glass, and will have a rather large camera module on the back.

That camera module will be placed in the top-left corner, and will include four cameras. The phone’s back will be curved, while the camera module will protrude quite a bit.

It seems like the device will include a flat display on the front, while its physical keys will be on the left. A side-facing fingerprint scanner will sit there, and will double as a power / lock button. The volume rocker keys will be placed above it.

The Kirin 820 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this smartphone, and will come with 5G support. The device will feature a 6.63-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) IPS LCD display.

We do not know what cameras exactly will be placed on this phone, though, we’ll have to wait until May 20 to find out. The device will also include a 4,200mAh battery, and support 22.5W wired charging.

TENAA also revealed the dimensions of this device. The HONOR X10 will measure 163.7 x 76.5 x 8.8mm. We do not know how much will it weight just yet, though. Wireless charging probably won’t be included.

The phone will ship with Android 10, without Google services

The device will ship with Android 10 out of the box. On top of Google’s OS, you’ll find Huawei’s EMUI 10 skin. Do note that this phone will ship without Google services, both in China, and outside of it, if it makes it to other markets.

The HONOR X10 is supposed to succeed the HONOR 9X. We’re not sure why it’s called the HONOR X10 and not HONOR 10X, though, but there you have it, that name is official. Some reports say that HONOR wanted to avoid mixing this phone with the upcoming Redmi 10X, hence the name change.

The phone is expected to have a similar price tag as HONOR 9X had. In other words, we’re expecting it to cost around CNY1,000 (€130).

HONOR will announce all the details regarding this phone on May 20. Some additional information may surface in the meantime, though, as per usual.
