The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is starting to take shape. It was only recently learned that the company is working on an ‘affordable’ version of the Galaxy S20 flagship with plans to release it later this year. Now, ahead of the impending launch, we have details on the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition official color variants.

The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be available in blue, white, and light violet colors, SamMobile reports.

While blue and white colors are pretty common on Samsung phones, we rarely see a violet-colored Galaxy smartphone. According to the report, this color might look something like the Prism Crush Violet paint job on the Galaxy A50s.

Samsung may even label the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition colors as Prism Blue, Prism White, and Prism Violet/Light Violet.

Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be available in three color variants

Samsung launched the ‘Lite’ versions of the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 flagships earlier this year, offering some flagship-grade features at significantly lower prices. The company is now following up on that strategy with the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition.

Despite it carrying a ‘Fan Edition’ name, this device is more or less a sequel to the Galaxy S10 Lite. This “watered-down” Galaxy S20 will reportedly come in both LTE and 5G variants with at least 128GB of internal storage.

The device will ship with Android 10, with One UI version 2.5 on top. The new iteration of Samsung’s custom Android skin will likely debut on the Galaxy Note 20 lineup.

The Galaxy S10 Lite came with the Snapdragon 855 chipset in all markets. So, if the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is anything like the S10 Lite, then we might be looking at an affordable Samsung flagship with Snapdragon 865 SoC inside.

Samsung’s Exynos chips have been falling short of the Snapdragon counterparts consistently over the years. The company using the Exynos 990 in the Galaxy S20 (Snapdragon 865 in select few markets) angered many. So it offering the ‘Fan Edition’ with a top-of-the-line Snapdragon chip in all markets will present alternatives to them.

The detailed specs of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition are still under the wraps. The device will likely launch alongside the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Fold 2 in August. However, it is not expected to go on sale until October.

Samsung reportedly wants to release three new flagships between August and October. The Galaxy Note 20 series will arrive first in August, followed by the Galaxy Fold 2 in September, and the Galaxy S20 Pen Edition in October.

As for pricing, it should cost somewhat around $700 if the Galaxy S10 Lite is any indication. The latter debuted for $650 in the US.
