HONOR has announced a new high-end device, the HONOR Play 4 Pro. In addition to that handset, the regular Play 4 variant has also been announced. The two phones have been launched in China.

The two phones do look quite similar, but not the same. Their spec sheets are also different. That being said, we’ll focus on the flagship-grade variant first, the HONOR 4 Play Pro.

The HONOR Play 4 Pro is made out of metal and glass. It includes a pill-shaped camera hole on the front, and really thin bezels. That camera hole is placed in the top-left corner of the display.

Speaking of which, the device includes a flat display, while its back side is curved towards the sides. HONOR’s logo is placed on the back of the device, along with two cameras. The phone also comes in a variant that includes an IR temperature sensor on the back.

The HONOR Play 4 Pro offer the Kirin 990 SoC, 8GB of RAM & a 40-megapixel camera

The HONOR Play 4 Pro features a 6.7-inch fullHD+ LCD display. The phone is fueled by the Kirin 990 64-bit octa-core processor, the most powerful processor HONOR has to offer.

The phone includes 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, along with EMUI 10.1 skin. Two SIM card slots are included inside of this phone.

A 40-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX600 RYYB sensor, f/1.8 aperture) sits on the back of the phone. In addition to it, you’ll also find an 8-megapixel telephoto camera (OIS, 3x optical zoom, 30x digital zoom).

A 32-megapixel camera is included on the front, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also a part of the package. This phone also supports 5G connectivity, and comes with Bluetooth 5. The phone sports a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

The HONOR 4 Play Pro includes a 4,200mAh battery on the inside, and supports 40W fast wired charging. The phone is priced at CNY2,899 ($407) in China. The infrared temperature variant costs a bit more at CNY2,999 ($421). The sale will kick off on June 9.

The HONOR 4 Play is a mid-range smartphone

The HONOR 4 Play, on the other hand, sports a 6.81-inch fullHD+ LCD display. The device is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 64-bit octa-core processor. Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, along with EMUI 10.1.

This smartphone includes 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of storage. Two SIM card slots are available inside the phone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

A 4,300mAh battery sits on the inside of this phone, and supports 22.5W fast wired charging. The device supports 5G connectivity, and it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

A 64-megapixel camera (f/1.89 aperture) is included on the back of the phone, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture). On top of that, you’ll also find a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture).

The phone measures 170 x 78.5 x 8.9mm, and weighs 213 grams. The phone’s pricing starts at CNY1,799 ($253) in China. It will become available from June 12, and we don’t know if any of these two phones will launch outside of China.
