The Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s S Pen will double as a pointer, it seems. This information comes from “Jimmy Is Promo” YouTuber, who shared the information via his Twitter handle.

This is the same source that shared the very first real-life images of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, by the way. In this new leak, he also shared an image of the device, its S Pen, and some options on the display.

The Galaxy Note 20’s S Pen will double as a pointer, thus expanding its functionality

Those options clearly show the device’s new functionality, well, the functionality of its stylus. As you can see on the display, the Galaxy Note 20 series S Pen will be able to function as a pointer too.

Options for this new feature will be available under a brand new “S Pen pointer” section in the S Pen settings. You will be able to customize the speed of the pointer, its color, and its trail, it seems.

Once you set everything up, you’ll be able to use the S Pen pointer in order to select various icons on the Galaxy Note 20’s display. On top of that, you’ll be able to highlight a specific area, navigate around the device, and so on.

In other words, this feature will be able to replace your presentation pointer without a problem. This makes the Galaxy Note 20 even more useful in a business environment, at least for some people.

This probably won’t be the only new S Pen feature, but it may be the most interesting one. Samsung is also expected to deliver some additional software features with the Galaxy Note 20 series, of course.

One UI 2.5, which will ship on top of Android 10, will enable Google’s gesture navigation in third-party launches. This is just one example, but you can expect new stuff on the software-side, for sure.

The new ‘Note 20’ series will become official on August 5

The Galaxy Note 20 series will become official on August 5. The company has confirmed that the launch event will take place then. It will be an online-only launch event, by the way.

Samsung is expected to announce three smartphones as part of the Galaxy Note 20 series, the Galaxy Note 20, Note 20+, and Note 20 Ultra. Those are not the only phones that will arrive during that event, though.

The company is also expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Both of those are foldable smartphones, and both are high-end products as well.

So, in retrospect, the company plans to introduce five flagship-level smartphones on August 5. That may seem like an overkill, and it probably is, but there you go. It will be a long presentation, it seems, and there’s plenty to look forward to.
