The time is finally upon us, as the PS5 is finally available to pre-order from a number of different retailers. Including Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target just to name a few.

Yesterday Sony held the PlayStation 5 Showcase event in a YouTube and Twitch live stream. It began the show by unveiling some big upcoming games. Some that will be launch titles, like Demon’s Souls, and others that are potentially coming far down the line, like Final Fantasy XVI.

After all the game trailers, Sony lifted the curtain on the only information that people seemed to want to know about. The price of the PS5, when it would be released, and when you would be able to pre-order it.

The cost of the console will be $499 for the Disc Edition and $399 for the Digital Edition. Pre-orders started yesterday evening, and the launch is officially on November 12 for the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, and November 19 everywhere else.

Where to pre-order the PS5

As noted above there are a handful of different retail partners working with Sony where you can pre-order the PS5.

In a tweet on the official PlayStation twitter page following the Showcase yesterday, Sony stated that pre-orders would begin at retailers as early as today. But all of its major retail partners began taking pre-orders immediately.

Starting with Wal-Mart, then followed by Target, Best Buy, GameStop, and finally Amazon. Sony would take pre-orders directly as well, but you needed to register your PSN ID with them to even be considered for the chance to buy.

For the other retailers though, you simply have to be fast and place your pre-order as soon as you can. Though, it’s entirely possible that all retailers are currently out of stock and will need to refresh it.

If you’re eager to get your own unit, whether in the Disc Edition or Digital Edition, you can do so from this link, which has links to Amazon, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target. Check often and refresh your pages if you’re planning to try and get one on launch day.

As all retailers will surely be replenishing stock before then.

What to look forward to on launch day

Launch day has a fair amount coming and to be excited about. Demon’s Souls has been confirmed as a day one game.

In addition to Demon’s Souls, Marvels Spider-Man: Miles Morales in Standard and Ultimate editions, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, Astro’s Playroom, Destruction All Stars, and Sackboy A Big Adventure are all the confirmed games to be available from November 12.

Sony likely has other titles that’ll be available on day one as well, but has yet to announce them. More than likely it will do so throughout the next couple of months leading up to the official launch.

You’ll also be able to buy additional DualSense controllers, the DualSense Charging Dock, the Pulse 3D Headphones, the Media Remote, and the HD Camera. And all of those are available for pre-order as well.

It’ll be an exciting November. Especially if you get your hands on a PlayStation 5 that you can plug in.
