Samsung was quick to release its custom skin, One UI 3.0 based on Android 11 for the Galaxy S20 series. Later, Samsung made the UI available to the developers in Korea and the US last week.
Now the official changelog of the Android 11 based One UI 3.0 has surfaced the internet. This brings to notice all the changes and new features that Samsung has embedded in One UI 3.0.
Moreover, Samsung has included its own features along with the Android 11 features. Making the One UI 3.0 a complete package. Right now, it is available to the registered developers of Galaxy S20 series in Korea and the US.
Fortunately, the public rollout of One UI 3.0 beta is set to commence for China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US in the coming weeks.
Let us take a look at the changes and new features Samsung has included with the One UI 3.0 (Android 11) update.
Accessibility
As noted by Sammobile, One UI 3.0 adds quick access to the important accessibility settings in the device setup process. The device will now recommend accessibility features based on your usage.
The setting accessibility shortcuts is easier in Settings. Besides, sound detectors now support SmartThings devices such as a Samsung Smart TV and lights.
Bixby Routines and Photo Editor
Yes, Samsung has included some features that will help fine tune the Bixby voice assistant. There are grouped presets to help you start off quickly. Moreover, you can also learn how to create routines quickly.
New actions like talking to Bixby and accessibility conditions are added to Bixby Routines. Several new conditions such as specific start time, a disconnection of a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi network, a call from a specific number, and more are also included.
In fact. you can now add customized icons for each Bixby routine. Moreover, the Photo Editor lets you revert the edited pictures back to their original versions.
Camera
As per the official changelog, Samsung has worked on improving the autofocus and auto exposure functionality of Galaxy S20 cameras. Besides, stabilization while taking pictures of the moon at high zoom levels is also tweaked.
Contacts, Messages, and Phone
Apparently, there are some big changes in contacts. Now, you can delete multiple duplicate contacts with ease. The Trash Bin feature is now added to the Messages app.
Besides, you can now customize the call screen with your images or videos. The contact search experience is also tweaked and enhanced.
Calendar and Reminders
Notably, events with the same start time are now grouped together in month and agenda view. Editing and adding events options have been reorganized.
In fact, for reminders and calendars, the layout for full-screen alerts has been improved.
Digital Wellbeing
With the help of trends, users can now see the change in their usage compared to last week. Besides, you can now check usage time for each feature.
A lock-screen widget is added so users can check screen time without unlocking your phone. Separate profiles for personal and work modes are also included.
Home Screen, Lock Screen, Quick Panel, and AOD features
You can now touch and hold an app to adds its widget on the home screen. Moreover, you can now turn off the screen by double-tapping an empty area on the screen.
More Dynamic Lock Screens have been added and widgets are improved. Conversation and media playback widgets now have their own separate sections in Quick Panel. AOD widgets are also improved.
Samsung Internet
The home-grown browser is getting a lot of tweaks. You can now block websites from redirecting you after you press the back button.
Warning and blocking options for websites showing too many pop-ups or notifications are also added. Menu items are now easy to find. Translate add-on lets you quickly translate the website into different languages.
Now you can open a maximum of 99 tabs and lock and reorder tabs. Besides, the support for the Samsung Internet edge panel is now gone.
Samsung Keyboard and Wireless DeX
One UI 3.0 Android 11 update brings keyboard settings under the General management section. The whole Settings menu is reorganized to let the user find important settings easily.
Though One UI 2.5 brought wireless DeX support to the Galaxy S20 series, it is now officially listed in the One UI 3.0 changelog.
