Similarly, the Sony Xperia 5 II is the mini-variant of the Xperia 1 II device. But it packs in some of the features that were heavily missed in the latter.

Especially, the phone bumps the screen refresh rate to 120Hz with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Finally, a phone to look out for from Sony.

In fact, the company released a bunch of videos that showcase the features and capabilities of the Xperia 5 II device. The video highlights the device’s form factor, audio performance, video/image shooting, and much more.

It is built for gaming

Well, one of the videos showcases the device’s upped 120Hz refresh rate screen, which is now apt for gaming. The high refresh rate is the future of gaming, which has been displayed in the PS5 console by Sony.

And on that same front, the Sony Xperia 5 II comes with some game-centric features such as a wider display, record voice commentary, an inbuilt game enhancer, heat suppression, and much more.

The display is gorgeous, which is an OLED panel with an aspect ratio of 21:9. Xperia 5 II comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack promises better L/R channel separation.

The phone also houses front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby ATMOS support for better audio output.

Made better for cinema

It is no denying fact that Sony is a big name in the cinema industry. And with Sony Xperia 5 II, the company wants to bring that experience to the users on a smartphone.

The device is fixed with a 6.1-inch HDR OLED panel. The Creator Mode is a place where you can edit and create outstanding videos. The aspect ratio lets you achieve full cinema-like output without any crop or distortion.

The Cinematography Pro app gives you access to all the manual controls that you can tweak to make your videos look great.

For photos, the company has included a triple 12 MP camera setup with ZEISS optics. Manual controls are also available via the Photography Pro app.

The app features Eye AF (humans and animals), 20 fps continuous shooting with AF/AE, and Bionz X image processing. Besides, the main 1/1.7 camera sensor boasts large 1.8 µm pixels optimized for low-light shooting.

Sony Xperia 5 II will be up for sale starting September 29th for $949

Well, good things don’t come cheap. The Sony Xperia 5 II will be live for pre-orders starting September 29. It will carry a price tag of $949 and will start shipping from December 2020.

The device will be 5G enabled as it packs the Snapdragon 865 processor. Under the hood, it will be juiced by a 4,000 mAh battery. Sadly, there is no wireless charging support.
