Sony is betting high on the Xperia 5 II (Mark 2) to revive its smartphone business. Fresh from its launch last week, the company has started to get down to the business of selling this phone. Shortly after the launch, it released a series of promotional videos highlighting the device’s camera, audio, video, and gaming capabilities. Sony is now following up with another series of videos that talk about the “masterclass” the Xperia 5 II is.

Mobile gaming is on the rise and new phones are now coming with some serious gaming-related optimizations. The first video in Sony’s “masterclass” series talks about the Xperia 5 II’s powerful hardware that includes the Snapdragon 865 SoC, a 6.1-inch Full HD+ display that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch response rate, and a heat dissipation mechanism that makes it a phone you can game on.
Sony has collaborated with professional eSports players to enhance the gaming capabilities of the Xperia 5 II. The company says regular meetings and playtest sessions during the development of the phone allowed it to make the Xperia 5 II what it is when it comes to gaming.

One of the biggest selling points of the Sony Xperia 5 II is its camera. Not only it packs a very capable camera setup but also builds on the company’s expertise in making digital cameras to create exclusive features that elevate the standard for mobile cameras.
The second video in the “masterclass” series is all about the photography capabilities of the phone. Sony has Ben Lowy and Marvi Lacar, two Ney York-based photographers and filmmakers, talking about the device’s Alpha series-like camera functionalities, accurate autofocus, 20 frames-per-second capturing capabilities, and dedicated shutter button, as well as many other control features that excite enthusiast photographers.
Sony also has a “masterclass” video with some photography tips to get the best out of the Xperia 5 II’s powerful camera setup. Some of the features discussed in this video include burst shot, autofocus, and shooting angle.

A powerful camera setup means the Xperia 5 II doesn’t lag behind in video recording capabilities either. In the next “masterclass” video, two cinematography professionals talk about their experiences with the phone. They explain how the device’s ability to capture both video and audio at superior quality, thanks to wind noise filtering, take accessible film making to a new level.
