The video-streaming giant Netflix has added the New & Popular tab for TVs, which was under testing for quite a while. Moreover, Netflix has also added a new section called “Worth the Wait.”

As per Engadget, this new Worth the Wait Netflix row shows content or episodes that are lined up for release in the next 15 to 365 days.

This is a nice touch to the already sorted user interface of UI, making it easier for the users to set a reminder for their favorite shows or movies.

Users can keep a tab on when they can see their favorite upcoming movies, without even bothering to look at other third-party sources. You get it right there in the Netflix app.

Besides, the new New & Popular section groups all the new shows that have been recently launched on the Netflix app. Apparently, this new section is available for TVs.

And is rolling out gradually for all the users. So, if you have not yet received this new section in your Netflix app, then better search for the update.

Netflix ‘Worth the Wait’ feature could compel its subscribers to continue with their subscription

This is a good marketing strategy from Netflix, as it will help them convince their subscribers to continue with the membership, even though the current content does not suit their needs.

With this New & Popular and Worth the Wait section, users will be compelled to continue with their subscription for the content that may arrive within the next 365 days.

Taking a look at the numbers, Netflix performed extremely during the last quarter. It added almost 10 million new subscribers to its tally.

Well, credit should go to COVID-19 and the lockdown that was imposed across the globe. People locked in their homes had nothing to do except Netflix and chill.

However, the company has faced user retention problems last year, and it was the first time in their history. Many are blaming the price hike as the reason for the lost subscribers.

For the unaware, it added $1 on top of its most basic plan in the US and $2 on top of its $11 standard package. Which ultimately did not go well with the subscribers and hence the outrage.

On top of this, multiple new streaming services have emerged, giving tough competition in price as well as the content. So, Netflix had to up its game to retain its customers and compel new customers to join the streaming platform.

The Netflix Worth the Wait section, as already mentioned, is only live for TVs. However, the company plans to test this new section for the web as well, but that will be done later this year.
