A recent Sony Xperia 5 II teardown video showcases that the company put plenty of thought process to provide optimal camera performance and has included a graphite sheet for the cameras.

Sony tried to take the limelight away from the Samsungs and Huaweis of the world with its recent releases, the Sony Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II.

Notably, the Xperia 1 II is the older sibling to the Xperia 5 II. Moreover, Xperia 5 II was launched recently in the last month. Both phones are touted to be powerhouses in the camera department.

Sony ported over some of the photography and videography controls over to Sony Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II. Sony also claims to provide the best possible manual controls for photography on a smartphone.

Apparently, the Sony Xperia 5 II comes with a graphite sheet for cooling the cameras on the device. As the phone is all about cameras, this is something nice to see.

Besides, the video also gives us a look at the internals of the device. The video by YouTube channel PBKreviews also shows how all the internal components are arranged in the compact form factor of the Xperia 5 II.

Given the device is powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor, houses an 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage onboard and a 4,000 mAh battery, the component arrangement looks well thought.

Interesting thing is that the company managed to keep up with all good internals, even with the compact size of the phone. Once the device is peeled open, the graphite sheet is visible. This sheet is meant to dissipate the heat from the device.

The graphite sheet on the Xperia 5 II extends to the triple-camera setup

We all know that the Sony Xperia 5 II comes with great camera setup. And to avoid performance comptonization, the graphite sheet now extends up to the triple camera setup.

To recall, the Xperia 5 II comes with a 12MP (f/1.7) primary sensor, a 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens. This setup is capable of shooting 4KHDR@120fps.

Additionally, the Xperia 5 II teardown video shows that the phone houses a copper tape behind the screen. This is meant to transfer heat from the mid-portion of the Xperia 5 II.

Some of the internal components are securely placed using adhesives, giving the phone a water-resistant build. In fact, the mic is secured with adhesive while the USB-C port is protected by a rubber gasket.

There is another positive thing that can be deduced from the video. It is that the phone is fairly easy to disassemble and put back together. So, it scores good numbers when it comes to repairability.
