The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S9 smartphones on AT&T are finally being updated to the November security patch. As always, the carrier-locked Samsung smartphones are getting their monthly security patch updates after a weeks-long delay. The latest update for the Galaxy S10 series comes in at just over 200MB in size.
For the AT&T Galaxy S9 smartphones, the update comes in around 1.5GB in size and carries the latest One UI 2.5. The update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ comes with the build numbers G960USQU8FTK2 and G965USQU8FTK2 respectively. Since it will be an incremental rollout, it might take a few more days to reach all eligible devices.

That being said, the One UI 2.5 will also be the last major OS update for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. None of these devices are eligible for the upcoming One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11. Samsung recently announced that it will offer three years of OS updates for its flagship smartphones.
However, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 smartphones launched in 2018 are not included in the eligibility list. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Note 20 are the first smartphones to come with One UI 2.5.
Even the November security patch was first rolled out for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the last week of October. Meanwhile, interested users can also manually check for the November update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download. If the update is available, tap on the “Install now” button to download and install it.
One UI 2.5 will be the last major update for the Galaxy S9 series
Along with the fixes from Google, the November security patch for Samsung smartphones also includes fixes for five critical vulnerabilities in the OS along with 29 high-level threats and 31 moderate threats. Speaking of the One UI 2.5 update, it brings the new wireless DeX mode to the two-year-old Galaxy S smartphones.
In addition, the default Samsung Keyboard app gets a split keyboard option when used in landscape mode. The search feature within the default keyboard now works with the YouTube app. The updated camera app now offers options for choosing the resolution and frame rate when using the Pro video mode.
Even though the Galaxy S9 smartphones won’t receive any new OS updates, the company will continue releasing the monthly security patch updates for at least one more year. After that, the frequency of the security patch rollout will reduce to one for every quarter.
