Believe it or not, Verizon Wireless variants of the Samsung Galaxy S20 are the first to get Android 11, the update is now rolling out. Verizon’s units have managed to beat every other variant of the device, even unlocked ones in other regions.

If you do not own one of those variants, don’t fret, as other models are set to get the update soon. Samsung announced that the update is coming this month, so it could be days, or weeks before you get it.

The Galaxy S20 models on Verizon are getting Android 11 with One UI 3.0

Do note that along with Android 11, this update also comes with Samsung’s One UI 3.0 skin. That is a given, as all of the company’s smartphones ship with One UI. This is a brand new version of it.

The changelog is not exactly detailed when it comes to this update, though, as you can see below. It only says that Android 11 has landed, and it lists “Updated user experience” as a change.

Needless to say, One UI 3.0 update brings several changes compared to an earlier version. It brings some visual tweaks, and it doesn’t exactly look like stock Android, of course.

It also brings some new features to the Galaxy S20, like the double-tapping to turn off the display, new camera filters, and ‘Single Take’ improvements. You will notice quite a few changes once you install the update.

Now, it is possible that Verizon jumped the gun on this update, as international unlocked models usually get it first, but there you go. If you’re a Verizon consumer, you should be able to download this update, if not immediately, then in a couple of days.

You can manually check if the update is available for your device. Simply open your phone’s ‘Settings’, and navigate to ‘System updates’. From there, tap the ‘Download and install’ option, if available. It is possible that the update won’t be available straight away, as mentioned earlier.
