Samsung has taken the touchscreen issue on the Galaxy S20 FE very seriously. This is the reason a new update is again rolling out for the device that brings fixes for the touchscreen issue on Galaxy S20 FE.

Interestingly, this issue differed from person to person. However, the common problem was related to the touchscreen being glitchy.
Because of this issue, the phone either took too long to recognize the touch input or sometimes it ignored the touches and swipes altogether. For some users, this issue resulted in ghost touches as well.
Although Samsung tried its best to resolve this issue by sending three updates for Galaxy S20 FE, the issue was not fixed for many users even after three updates.
Good thing is that Samsung did not give up on its users and is rolling out yet another update. It arrives with build number BUA5 and weighs around 263MB in size.
Galaxy S20 FE update bumps the security patch level to January 2021
This time, the new Galaxy S20 FE update bumps the security patch level to the latest January 2021. The changelog of the update specifically mentions that this update improves the stability of the touch screen.
Moreover, the update also improves the overall stability of the device. But the main highlight of this update is that it brings a fix for the touchscreen issue on the Galaxy S20 FE.
It is rolling out via OTA in batches, so won’t be readily available for every user. If you haven’t received the update where the update is live, then you can head over to Settings and check for the software update manually.
The important thing is that the update isn’t rolling out for everyone. It is currently seeding for users of Galaxy S20 FE in the UK.
As far as whether this update fixes the touchscreen issue is concerned, several users in the UK have reported that it fixes the touchscreen issue on their devices.
Unfortunately, there are still many users, claiming that the January 2021 update did not fix the issue, and they are still facing touchscreen problems on their Galaxy S20 FE units.
