Samsung is preparing to launch several affordable 5G smartphones in the mid-range Galaxy A series this year. The Galaxy A32 5G will likely arrive first as the company’s cheapest 5G smartphone yet. The device’s design was revealed in a leak early last month, and it showed a rather unique rear camera design. Now, a fresh leak has given us a much closer look at the upcoming device.
Leaked official press renders of the Galaxy A32 5G reiterate the previously leaked design that shows the handset with four cameras at the back. However, what’s interesting is that the cameras don’t sit in a single rectangular housing as we see in most mid-range smartphones that come out of Samsung’s factory gates. Instead, each camera sensor has its own separate cutout on the back panel. Even the LED flash gets a separate cutout.
The camera sensors do protrude from the plastic back panel but it’s still a welcome design change from Samsung that not many would dislike. Some might point out that the design is inspired by the LG Velvet but there’s surely no harm in it.
Apart from the rear cameras, the rest of the phone does fairly look like a standard Samsung mid-ranger. The display sports a V-shaped notch with relatively thick bezels. The volume controls and the power button are on the right side, with the latter also embedding a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The SIM card tray is on the left. The phone gets a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, where a USB Type-C port, a speaker, and a microphone also rest.
Galaxy A32 5G rumored specifications
The Galaxy A32 5G is still light on spec details. However, early reports suggest that the device will come with a 6.5-inch LCD screen and could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor. This chipset comes with an integrated 5G modem for sub-6 GHz networks. Samsung may pair the processor with at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage.
The rear quad-camera setup will reportedly feature a 48-megapixel primary shooter. Spec detail of the other three sensors is not known, but they could be an ultra-wide camera, a macro lens, and a depth sensor.
The Galaxy A32 5G is slightly on the bulkier side of things, measuring at 164.2 x 76.1 x 9.1mm. The thickness suggests that it will pack a big battery as well, though we don’t have any information in this regard yet.
There’s still no word yet on the pricing and availability details of the Galaxy A32 5G. Samsung might be planning to introduce it over the next few weeks. The device may well debut under $400. We will keep you updated as and when more details emerge.
