Over the past two or three years, Samsung has really upped its game when it comes to pushing the latest security updates. In line with this, the latest reports confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup is already picking up the ultra-latest February 2021 security patch.

We are calling the February 2021 security patch as “ultra-latest” because it is not even February yet. Moreover, not even Google’s own Pixel devices have picked up the February 2021 security updates.

FYI, it has been a long time since we have heard that Google Pixel devices are picking up the latest security patches ahead of Samsung. Samsung has become the numero-uno in delivering the latest security patch.

But after delivering this February 2021 patch for the Galaxy S20 series, Samsung just hits the ball out of the park. Notably, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra are grabbing the latest security patch in some countries.

The update is currently live in multiple markets. This includes various European countries and the UK. To be specific, it includes Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries, and the UK.

Besides, looking at the pace at which Samsung is delivering updates, soon Galaxy S20 series owners in other regions should also pick up the update.

The Galaxy S20 series February 2021 security update arrives with build CUA8

Talking about the update, Galaxy S20 series owners in the above-mentioned regions are picking up their February 2021 security patch with build number CUA8.

Being a security update, we don’t expect it to bring any new features for the Galaxy S20 lineup. However, it will definitely fix multiple vulnerabilities related to security.

The official security bulletin for the February 2021 security patch is also not available. So, we are not quite sure what all vulnerabilities this new patchset fixes.

As usual, the update, in the said regions, is rolling out via OTA in batches. Meaning that it will take some time to be available for all the Galaxy S20 units.

However, you can check for the update manually by heading over to Settings. After that, navigate to “System updates.” From there, tap the “Download and install” option. You can proceed with downloading and installation of the update if a new update is available.

Besides, if the update is not available, then you may need to wait for the rollout to expand for more users. Additionally, it is expected that Samsung will soon begin rolling out the latest February 2021 security patch for the remaining devices as well.
