On Tuesday, Disney held its annual shareholder meeting, virtually of course. And there were a few interesting announcements to come out of the meeting. For one, ESPN+ will be launching on Hulu tomorrow. This was actually first announced late last year, and would happen in 2021. So it’s good to see that happening.

As of right now, there’s not a lot of information available about ESPN+ being on Hulu. Other than the fact that we know all content will be available in the Hulu app, as well as purchasing UFC PPV’s via ESPN+ on Hulu. It’ll likely be similar to the FX on Hulu hub that it launched fairly recently.

Disney+ now has 100 million subscribers

Surprising probably no one, Disney+ also hit the 100 million subscriber milestone. It’s not a big surprise, but still pretty impressive for Disney+. Considering it launched less than two years ago and already has 100 million subscribers.

The pandemic did help Disney+ get to 100 million a lot faster than they had expected too. Because people were stuck at home and needed something to watch. As well as something for their kids to watch and keep them busy. Disney+ has something for everyone, from kids shows, to adult shows with Marvel, Star Wars, and the Disney Channel content available on Disney+. Not to mention that it is also pretty inexpensive at just $6.99.

Disney+ originally expected to have around 50 to 60 million subscribers by the end of 2021. Needless to say, they blew their goals out of the water, and that shows that more people were interested in Disney+ than Disney actually expected to see.

Of course, launching Star in international markets in the past month, has helped Disney+ jump past the 100 million subscriber mark here. Since Hulu isn’t available internationally, for all of the Fox studio shows that are available on Star.
