Xbox Game Pass has been a tremendous value since very early on in its lifespan, and tomorrow it gets even more valuable as you’ll have yet another way to play Skyrim.

Foregoing the many jokes one could make here about how many platforms Skyrim is available on thanks to its numerous re-releases, the game is by all accounts still one of the best RPGs out there.

Of course The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim coming to Xbox Game Pass isn’t just a one-off. It’s the result of the finalized acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft. Which will see a boatload of iconic titles from the studio being released for Game Pass subscribers tomorrow.

Skyrim and 19 other Bethesda games are joining Xbox Game Pass on March 12

In total there are 20 new games coming to Game Pass tomorrow. One of those is of course, Skyrim. Though you won’t necessarily have to buy it this time.

Yes, for once you can officially play Skyrim on a new platform without having to buy it again. (Thanks Todd Howard!) But in addition to Skyrim, there are many more titles to look forward to. Multiple games from across Bethesda’s many popular franchises are on the way too. Including Fallout 4, Rage 2, DOOM Eternal, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Dishonored.

Not all games are playable via the cloud

All but 3 of the 20 titles will be playable via the cloud which means you can play these games on your Android smartphone or tablet anywhere you like. As long as you’re connected to the internet.

The full list of Bethesda games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass March 12, aside from the ones listed above, are Dishonored Definitive Edition, DOOM (1993), DOOM II, DOOM 3, DOOM 64, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Evil Within, Fallout 76, Fallout: New Vegas, Prey, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Of those games, the only ones not playable via the cloud are Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout: New Vegas. So you can enjoy every other title from Bethesda that’s being added from the comfort of your own home or on the go.

Since Xbox Game Pass isn’t free, you aren’t getting to play these games without having to pay for them. You are paying for them in a roundabout way, just not directly and not only for one specific game.

Xbox Game Pass costs a minimum of $9.99 a month. And if you want the ability to play via the cloud you need to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is $14.99 a month. So, are you technically buying Skyrim for another platform? Kind of? But no, not really. Especially for those who have already been subscribed to Xbox Game Pass and are just continuing to enjoy the new games being added to library.
