The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is getting a new Android security update, this time around, it’s a June security update. The company has already started pushing out that update to its devices, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is one of the first to get it.
June Android security update starts rolling out to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G
This update started rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series yesterday, as some of you may already know. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G has started receiving this update in various parts of Europe, but it will reach other markets soon.
The update will change your firmware version to “F707BXXS3DUE1”. It is currently rolling out in the following markets: Austria, the Baltic region, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, the Nordic countries, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Samsung has been really good when it comes to releasing these security updates this year. It’s not even June yet, and the update is already rolling out. It has been doing that for a while for its most prominent smartphones.
The details of this update haven’t been published yet
The company still did not reveal which vulnerabilities will be fixed with this update. The report is expected in the coming days, though. Do note that this security patch includes fixes from both Google (general Android fixes), and Samsung (specific to One UI).
If you live in one of the markets mentioned above, you can check whether the update is available. Simply navigate to Settings -> Software update, and tap ‘Download and install’. Even if you don’t do that, though, your phone will let you know once the update is available.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is actually the latest ‘Z Flip’ smartphone Samsung released. It came as a second such smartphone in 2021, and it will remain the newest one until the Galaxy Z Flip 3 arrives. That is expected to happen in August, by the way, as the phone is tipped to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
