Months after first appearing in various unofficial world listings as the ASUS Chromebook Flip CM3000, ASUS has finally released its Chromebook Detachable CM3 tablet. That’s based on recent reports detailing a new listing shown on the official website for the company.

Listed at just $369.99, ASUS Chromebook Detachable CM3 is exactly as its branding suggests. The 10.5-inch, 1920 x 1200 resolution touchscreen-enabled gadget is a Chromebook. But one that ships with a detachable keyboard and stain-resistant cover. And an in-frame USI stylus, making tablet use one of its primary functions. That stylus can, ASUS says, go for 45-minutes of use on just 15-seconds of charge.

When in clamshell mode, the keyboard features ASUS-standard ergonomic lift at the back end too. That means that the back of the keyboard lifts up in that mode, making typing more comfortable. As does the 1.5mm key travel. And the stand can be used to put the tablet in portrait mode too, if needed.

What are the specs for ASUS Chromebook Detachable CM3?

Now the specs for the currently available model of ASUS Chromebook Detachable CM3 — with model designation CM3000DVA-DS44T-S — show that this device isn’t meant for the most intensive tasks. While the frame is an aluminum unibody design at just 7.9mm thin, with matte black diamond-cut edges accenting the Mineral Grey coloration, the internals show it isn’t necessarily the most powerful. But it’s not a slouch either.

ASUS opted for an octa-core ARM-based MediaTek 8183 Processor, clocked at up to 2GHz with 1M Cache. That’s backed by a respectable 64GB of eMMC storage and 4GB LPDDR4X RAM.

Bluetooth 4.2 is available for connectivity with this detachable as well. As is a single USB-C port for power delivery and display out, a Pogo Pin interface for the keyboard, and a 3.5mm audio jack. All built into the 10.1 x 6.6 x 0.3-inch frame. With a weight of just 1.12 lbs. Wi-Fi 802.11ac, in 2×2 MIMO configuration, and the battery can last, ASUS says, up to 12 hours on a single charge with 45W fast charging to fuel up when it does die.

Finally, for cameras, ASUS includes a 2-megapixel camera on the webcam side and an 8-megapixel snapper on the world-facing side.

Pricing and availability

As noted above, this variant of the new ASUS Chromebook detachable comes at a price of $369.99. And that includes a full year of Google One storage. That’s at the 100GB storage level. As of this, it also appears to be available on ASUS’s own website as well as Amazon. So buyers will need to head over there if they want to pick this one up. At least for now.
